You're Not There |
 |
I hear you walking
down the hall...
I pick up the phone
to give you a call,
but... you're not there.
I see all the traces
you left behind... the
things that were ours,
and now are just mine.
You slipped away so
silently, I held your hand,
but then you were gone
I cried incoherently.
I think that life is
playing tricks on me...
I know I see you there,
yet it can't be.
Sometimes in a vision
I see your face...
but when I look again
there is not a trace.
As I wake up each day
I think this must be a dream,
I still look for you everywhere
but... you're not there.
