I raised my head one last time

and saw what appeared to be

a light in the darkness

shining right at me.

Something inside me

said, you don't want to die,

and somehow I found the courage

to get up and try.

'The Only Light You Need is Jesus'

Is what the sign said,

somehow mercifully there was a

church where it lead.

I stumbled inside hoping

to find a place to hide,

but there stood a man

as the door opened wide.

I told him, "I wanted to die

but the light led me here,

I just kept walking ahead,

I think out of fear."

"You're mistaken, my son,

for there is no light,

...you see no one ever

travels this road at night."

"But the light led me here,"

I cried out...

yet when I looked again

I saw he was right.

"My son," he said,

   with a glow on his face...
"Jesus saved your life tonight

with His grace."
