I had the greatest Mother... she taught us many things, but I think the most important was to find the humor in everything and learn to laugh at ourselves. We had a lot of laughter in our house... we could be sitting at the dining table having dinner and all of a sudden Mom would pull out a water gun from her lap and squirt one of us in the face! And then... the fun began! Mom always kept a very meticilous house, with not a speck of dust or disarray anywhere... but when it came to water all the rules took a back seat.
I really loved that about Mom... it's such a great example to carry on to our children. I think if we can see the humor in a situation it can be such therapy. In some situations of course there is not any humor but a great sadness and grief. Then maybe it's not until years later we can recall something wonderful about that person or moment and a smile comes to our face... just because of the wonderful memories, just like this one I shared with you about my Mother.
How I loved her so...
