On September 13, 2010 at approximately 3:00 a.m. my beloved brother, Leon Lewis passed away. Leon struggled most of his adult life with alcoholism and the terrible effects it had on his life and those close to him.
A handsome and talented young man, Leon worked as an automotive Service Writer for many years. He had been involved in local drag racing and off-roading. He married and had two incredible children, Gary Lee, now 44, and Aleica Renae' 42. They are the best children ever and their love showed for their father. Leon will be remembered for his sense of humor, and his fondness for cars, music and animals. I loved him so much and I will miss him even more.
Leon passed away of heart failure and respiratory problems. He left behind many family members and friends that supported and loved him always. Leon struggled with the little things in life and the big things too. Cora was like his 'second mother' after our mother passed away in 1974. She not only was his 'second mother', she was his hero, she was my hero too. As you know we lost our beloved Cora on June 19, 2010 to cancer. Losing Cora devastated us and Leon couldn't cope with her loss.
Sometimes I don't understand why sad things happen, I don't understand why Cora and Leon died at this time. But I know I'm not to ask God why, I'm just to accept His will and He will give me the courage and strength I need. I see only a small piece of the picture but God see's it all.
