Jesus gives us a candle

to light the way

from the inner cities to

the darkest depths of decay.

Have we called on the lonely,

the rejected and poor, or

the rich proud defiant ones if

they've closed their hearts door.

Have we told them how

Jesus forgives all our sins,

if only we ask Him

 our heart to come in.

For, it doesn't matter the

color of our skin, or the sins

we've committed, Jesus died

for us all to save us from sin.

Now Jesus is waiting

  for us to do our part...

 tell the world about Him,

that others can ask

Him into their heart.

We may be

the only light

   in someone's darkness...

so let it shine.
