We walked together today

once again, the first time I

can't remember, I was seven

or eight, or maybe ten.

The sunlight sparkled

in your hair

just as it did then,

your gentle eyes,

your laughing smile brought

a peace over me that

consumed me for a while.

You looked down at me

and tears begin to fall

one by one... we just

held unto each other

until there were none.

Then from our shadows

on the sand I saw you

 reach and take my hand,

we talked for hours

   it would seem...

but was it real or had

it only been a dream.

You crept into

my thoughts today

   and just for a moment...

it was almost like

you never went away.
