 AGE

Our lives are like a book,

   our days are a page...

oh to always be young,

but here it comes...AGE!

I have these wrinkles

   all over my face...

the lines of a lifetime

all running a race.

I used to have freckles,

   these cute little dots...

but they've been replaced

by brown age spots!

Sometimes I just want

   to run and hide...

for each part of my body

is beginning to slide.

I spend every day

 on a heating pad,

   which keeps me happy...

I might add.

There are some things

it's hard to reach,

like finding the cup

for my teeth.

And my eyes are not

good like they used to be,

old age is surely

creeping up on me.

When I was younger

I used to be kind of nifty...

After all, I'm not really that old,

I'm just turning fifty!
